AI 404 Redirects — Privacy Policy
Effective date: January 1, 2026
This policy explains what data the AI 404 Redirects app collects from stores that install it, how it is used, and who it is shared with.
Information we collect
- Your myshopify.com domain and app configuration settings.
- Catalog information — product and collection titles, handles, types, and publication status — used to match broken links to the right page.
- Broken-link events: when a visitor reaches a page that does not exist, we record the requested address, the referring page, the browser user-agent, any marketing (UTM) parameters on the link, and the time. This describes traffic and links; it does not include customer names, emails, addresses, or payment details.
- Redirects created on your behalf.
We do not access or store your customers' personal information, orders, or payment data.
How we use it
To send visitors who hit a broken link to the most relevant page, to create and manage redirects, to show reporting on broken links and the campaigns linking to them, and to send alerts you configure.
AI processing
To match broken links by meaning, product and collection text (such as titles) is sent to an AI provider to generate matching data. By default this uses our built-in provider (OpenAI, via Vercel AI Gateway). If you connect your own OpenAI or Google Gemini account, that provider is used instead. No customer personal data is sent to AI providers.
Service providers
We use Vercel (hosting) and Supabase (database) to operate the app, plus the AI provider described above. If you enable Slack alerts, notifications are sent to the Slack webhook you provide. We do not sell your data.
API keys you provide
If you connect your own AI provider key, it is stored encrypted, used only to match links for your store, and never displayed again or shared.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your data while the app is installed. When you uninstall, or upon a verified deletion request, we delete your store's data in line with Shopify's privacy requirements, including the shop redaction webhook. We respond to Shopify's customer and shop data-request and redaction webhooks.
Your rights
You can request access to or deletion of your store's data by contacting us. We comply with applicable data-protection laws, including GDPR where it applies.
